Parents' Guide | School Dinners
No matter whether your child is having a school dinner, or a packed lunch, and regardless of age, please do ensure that if you qualify for one of the benefits below, you apply for free school dinners. This gives school extra money to support your child in school and you will also receive a free £5 voucher towards school uniform if you register successfully!
Download our school dinner menu at the bottom of this page. Please note, this menu is subject to change. We will always inform families of any changes in advance wherever possible.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals, which are provided every day and cooked onsite by our school caterers, Mellors Catering. Children have a hot food choice and salad is available every day. There is always fresh fruit available for dessert. We believe this to be an important and beneficial part of the school day. All children are taught how to use a knife and fork as well as good table manners. This is also a social time when children talk with their peers and staff over lunch. School menus are available from the school website or from the school office upon request. If your child has specific dietary needs then please speak to a member of school staff.
Children in key stage 2 may choose to have a school dinner. The current cost for a school lunch is £2.00 per day. Dinner money should be paid online or payed at the school office.
Payment for school dinners is quick and easy - we use an online payment system called SCOPAY. It allows parents, guardians, or carers to make payments by credit or debit card for all school purchases (including school meals, trips, uniforms and school clubs). If you have not yet registered let the office know and an access code will be issued to you. Then visit SCOPAY.com or download the SCOPAY app and pay anytime, anywhere.
Alternatively children in key stage 1 and 2 can opt to bring a packed lunch to school.
Full details of how we manage any pupil's allergies are included in our allergy policy - available at the bottom of this page. If your child has any allergies, please ensure you inform school straight away. Arnbrook Primary School does not guarantee a completely allergen free environment, but we do ask that parents/carers avoid nuts and products with nuts in them wherever possible. This may include some types of cakes, biscuits, cereal bars and vegetarian products. If your child does have nuts or a nut based product in school, we may ensure they are sitting separately from the child with a nut allergy, in case of any allergic reaction.
