As I am sure you have seen and heard, the government has announced that all primary schools are to be closed to the majority of pupils in a bid to control the infection rates of the virus. This comes into effect from midnight tonight.
Therefore, with much sadness, our school will remain open for vulnerable pupils and those pupils of key workers ONLY, for the foreseeable future. Please only send your child to school tomorrow if one or more of your child’s parents/carers are keyworkers and they cannot be safely cared for at home.
If your child meets the criteria, we ask that you bring your child to school tomorrow at their usual time and take them to their classroom as usual. Here, they will be met by their class teacher. Breakfast club will not be open tomorrow (Tuesday). Further information will be required from parents/carers of keyworkers in due course.
We will contact parents/carers of pupils who are deemed vulnerable later on Tuesday.
As the announcement was made so late in the evening, our leadership team need time to consider what this provision will look like for the foreseeable and will continue to communicate any updates regularly to you.
For those pupils being asked to stay at home, the school will be in contact tomorrow regarding the approach to remote learning. Please ensure you check Class Dojo regularly.
We wish our school community well in these very uncertain times. Stay safe everyone.
The criteria for vulnerable and key worker children can be found here.
Thank you for your support,
