Dear Parents/Carers,
We know that many of our children will be celebrating Eid around Friday 21st April and we
understand this is a very special celebration for many of our families.
Those children and families celebrating Eid will be allowed one day’s authorised absence for
Religious Observance, as per previous years and in accordance with our Attendance Policy. Pupils
who are not celebrating Eid will be expected to attend as normal; again, any child who is expected
to be in school but who is absent will be marked as unauthorised unless parents provide evidence
of illness or medical appointments.
If your child will not be attending school as they will be observing and celebrating Eid, then please
complete a leave of absence request form. These are available from our attendance office or call
us on 0115 9190199 and speak to our Attendance Support Worker, Mrs. Stevenson, and we can
arrange for one to be sent home to you.
We will be learning more about Eid and celebrating this important festival in school.
